the Monterey Peninsula and Central Coast area since 1970. We continue to create
innovative designs that add to the community and embrace the historical context
of the Monterey Area.
In our beginnings, we were located in
the heart of Cannery Row where we remodeled the historic cannery. We have enjoyed
our Garden Road offices since 2001. JHW is named for its founders and long-time
associates: Jacoubowsky, Hawkins, and Walker. Our firm continues to build on
our long history in the community.Under
the leadership of Douglas Roberts since 2016, JHW is firmly in its second generation,
continuing to bring architectural excellence to the community.
Some long-term and
notable clients include the Monterey Bay Aquarium, CSU Monterey Bay, Middlebury
Institute of International Studies, McGraw Hill, Monterey College of Law, the
Cannery Row Company, City of Monterey, and many local businesses, hotels and
restaurants of the Monterey area. The firm has also designed over 75 church
projects throughout Northern California.
