When
the Monterey Peninsula Water Management District moved their
District Offices to Ryan Ranch, the large staff had a variety
of requests. Architect Daryl Hawkins made suggestions, guided
choices and planned the areas with windows in every possible
location, a "kitchen to die for", and spacious restrooms with
a shower and changing room. Three conference rooms were designed
for special purposes: downstairs off the lobby is a public conference
room for visitors to discuss the permitting process. The large,
ground floor conference room houses Water Board meetings and
includes a wet bar, large storage areas and a separate outdoor
entrance. The third upstairs conference room is used for in-house
meetings and features windows and soundproofing to accommodate
other business on the floor.
